Charles F. Hines, Senior Instructor

Mr. Hines (Chuck) began teaching for ESTP in 1998. He currently teaches asbestos, lead, HAZWOPER, confined space and mold classes, and assists with curriculum development. He came to us with twenty-six years of experience at California State University, Sacramento, including nine years as Senior Technologist in Environmental Health and Safety where he provided oversight for the asbestos program and performed air clearance monitoring, served as the respiratory protection program administrator (he did all of the fit testing, training and monitoring for over one-hundred employees), coordinated and managed the hazardous waste program, taught the annual fire safety/fire extinguisher training classes, performed safety inspections, assisted with the original hazardous materials business plan for the local fire department and performed miscellaneous industrial hygiene work.

Chuck earned a Master of Arts degree in Education (Behavioral Science), a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Personnel Management) with minors in mathematics and music, and his life elementary and secondary teaching credentials. He did post-graduate work in English. He completed professional classes in train-the-trainer Confined Spaces, asbestos and lead; he completed the forty-hour respiratory protection program at NIOSH, and the six-week Hazardous Materials Management program at U. C. Davis as well as numerous refresher classes and one-day seminars

 

Peter Roddy

Mr. Roddy has numerous years of teaching and practical experience in health and safety. He served as a professional staff member with the UC Davis Office of Environmental Health and Safety with appointments as Adjunct Faculty/Lecturer with the UC Davis School of Medicine and the UC Davis College of Letters & Sciences. He later was worked as Director of Environmental Health and Safety with California State University, Sacramento and was instrumental in introducing the asbestos training program through the CSUS Extended Learning Program.

In addition to Mr. Roddy’s affiliation with academic institutions, he has provided instruction in a variety of health and safety topics and has been certified to qualify other to instruct as an Instructor Trainer with the American National Red Cross and as an Affiliate Faculty member with the American Health Association. He has conducted Train-the-Trainer programs in occupational safety and health.

Additionally Mr. Roddy bring to our classroom experiences in asbestos, lead and other health and safety project management from his involvement with clients including public and private institutions and residential and commercial property owners.

He brings in excess of 35 years of teaching experience to ESTP.

Rudy Calderon 

Mr. Calderon has worked in the abatement     industry since 1988.  He has been teaching at ESTP since 2001.  He has a wide range of knowledge from working in the abatement field for so many years.  He teaches asbestos and lead classes in both English and Spanish.

Dan Napier

Master of Science in Environmental Science

Adjunct Faculty, California State University San Bernardino

Mr. Napier wrote the original AHERA Asbestos Worker, Supervisor Training Course work in 1986. His organization has held EPA accreditation for Asbestos Training since the beginning. He has personally managed more than one thousand asbestos remediation projects. His experience brings a clear and practical approach to asbestos remediation. Mr Napier did seminal work involving lead monitoring and consultation. He has been involved in lead mitigation since the early 1970's. He has directed the mitigation and evaluation of mold exposures since the early 1980's. Mr Napier is one of our instructors that instructs in Spanish. Mr. Napier has qualified as an expert in the mitigation of microbiological hazards as well as in asbestos mitigation.

Ramon Parra 

Mr. Parra has been in the abatement industry since 1987.  He has been teaching at ESTP since 2004.  He teaches asbestos classes in both English and Spanish. He is currently working in the abatement industry as a superintendent.  He brings knowledge and many years of experience to the classroom

 

Arturo Parra 

Mr. Parra has been in the abatement industry since 1992.  He has just joined ESTP in 2005.  He teaches asbestos classes in both English and Spanish. He is currently working in the abatement industry as a supervisor.  He brings a wealth of practical experience to the students he teaches

Juan Saavedra

Mr. Saavedra has been in the abatement industry since 1990. He has been teaching at ESTP since 2004. He teaches asbestos and lead classes in both English and Spanish. The experience he has makes him a well qualified instructor.

John Davidowski, CAC 

Mr. Davidowski was in the US Coast Guards for 26 years, worked at the University of California in the Department of Agricultural and Natural Resources as the principle Environmental Health Specialists and  founded JD Consulting   in 1997.  He has been teaching at ESTP since 2003.  He has taught courses and provided consulting services for major companies throughout California .

David Beadle, CIH

Pepe Arteaga, BS

  Mr. Arteaga has been teaching Lead classes in both English and Spanish at ESTP since 2003.  He worked at Mare Island as the Health Physicist/Nuclear Engineer for many years.  He does Spanish translation for hospitals and courts cases.

Herminio Trujillo

Mr. Trujillo has been in the abatement industry since 1985. He has been teaching at ESTP since 2003 He teaches asbestos and lead classes in both English and Spanish. He is currently working in the abatement industry as a superintendent. He has a well seasoned knowledge of the abatement industry.

Francisco “Paco” Ponce

  Mr. Ponce has been in the abatement industry since 1985.  Mr. Ponce is our newest staff member: he started teaching of us in 2005. He has been assisting with the hands-on training in the lead classes in both English and Spanish. He is currently working in the abatement industry as a superintendent.
